Transform into a feline or leopard using budget-friendly drugstore makeup. This guide walks you through a cat-eye shadow technique, contouring for an animal nose, and adding spots and whiskers. Finish with mascara and animal accessories for a complete costume.

Directions

  1. Start by sweeping eye primer from the lash line up to the brow bone to make the eye area brighter.
  2. Dab the lightest eyeshadow shade onto the inner corners of the eyes. Then apply a neutral pink shade in the crease to create a smooth transition.
  3. Use a dark brown shadow on the outer V of each eye, extending farther outward than usual to create a cat-eye effect.
  4. Take the darkest shade from your palette and apply it on the outer section of the eyelids.
  5. Cover the entire eyelid with a gold or yellow eye crayon.
  6. Add more of the darkest shadow to emphasize the outer corners, then soften the edges with a clean, larger makeup brush.
  7. With a small detail brush, draw a thick line of gel eyeliner just above the lashes and extend it into a wing for a feline shape.
  8. Continue the liner along the bottom inner corners of the eyes to connect the wing.
  9. Apply a medium brown shadow under the lower lashes, then layer the darkest shade on top to intensify the look.
  10. Generously brush bronzer onto the cheekbones, forehead, and sides of the nose. Then apply the darkest contour shade over those same areas.
  11. Add a pop of blush on the cheekbones.
  12. To slim the nose, use the darkest contour shade or a dark brown eyeshadow along the sides.
  13. Using a small brush, apply and blend white concealer down the bridge of the nose and in the space between the nose and upper lip.
  14. Outline the edges of the white areas on the nose with dark brown shadow or contour powder.
  15. Apply the white concealer to the lower lip.
  16. Set all areas where you placed white concealer with a loose setting powder.
  17. Draw a line of gel eyeliner on the tip of the nose and extend it straight down to the upper lip.
  18. Use the same gel eyeliner to outline the upper lip.
  19. Create whiskers by drawing small black dots with the eyeliner between the nose and upper lip.
  20. For the spots, use the gel eyeliner to draw C shapes or parentheses in an asymmetrical pattern—for example, an arc around the right eye and continuing on the left side of the neck.
  21. Highlight the spots by accenting them with a bronze, shimmery liquid eyeliner.
  22. Finish with a coat of mascara on the lashes, then add leopard ears and a leopard print shirt to complete the animal look.
