This tutorial guides you through creating a colorful butterfly face using face paints, eyeliner, and glitter. You'll design large wings over the eyes, a body down the nose, and antennae on the forehead, finishing with sparkly pink lips. Perfect for a festive Halloween look that's both fun and beautiful.

Directions

  1. Using a wide brush, sweep face paint across the eyelid and upward onto the forehead in broad strokes.
  2. Extend the wing shape below the eye by dragging the brush from the inner corner outward and downward.
  3. Then, with a small craft brush and orange face paint, add highlights.
  4. Repeat using gold face paint to further define each wing.
  5. Outline the edge of the makeup with black liquid eyeliner.
  6. For highlights, use a small makeup brush with white face paint to dot each wing tip randomly, directly over the black lines.
  7. Also place a white dot on the inner corner of the eye.
  8. Carefully use your fingers to dab kid-friendly gel glitter inside the black outlines of the wings.
  9. Using a wide brush and face paint, form one large wing over each eyelid extending up the forehead.
  10. Trace the wings with black eyeliner and add white dots with face paint.
  11. Draw an oval above the nose with a black eyeliner pencil to start the butterfly's body between the wings.
  12. From the oval's bottom, extend a long, thin teardrop shape down to the tip of the nose to complete the body.
  13. Above the oval, draw two lines on the forehead that curl at the top to look like antennae.
  14. Complete the face with sparkly pink lips: apply pink lipstick first, then add a dot of glitter in the center of the lips for shimmer.
