These Baked Mummy Cheese Hot Dogs are a perfect Halloween snack. Crescent dough strips are wrapped around hot dogs and cheese to resemble mummy bandages. Bake until golden and serve with mustard or ketchup for dipping.
Ingredients
Directions
- Preheat the oven to 375°F.
- If using crescent rolls: unroll the dough, separate into 4 rectangles at the perforations, then press the seams to seal. If using a seamless dough sheet: unroll and cut into 4 rectangles.
- Using a knife or kitchen scissors, cut each rectangle lengthwise into 10 strips, for a total of 40 dough pieces.
- Cut each cheese slice into quarters; with 2.5 slices you'll get 10 quarters.
- Take 4 dough strips and one cheese quarter, wrap them around each hot dog, stretching the dough slightly to fully cover it like bandages.
- About half an inch from one end of each hot dog, separate the dough strips to expose the hot dog, creating a mummy face.
- Arrange the wrapped hot dogs on an ungreased baking sheet, cheese side down. Lightly spray the dough with cooking spray.
- Bake for 13 to 17 minutes, until the dough is light golden brown and the hot dogs are heated through.
