Carrot Pumpkins are Healthy Halloween Snacks
Healthy Halloween snack: turn carrots into cute pumpkins with just a knife!
Our own summary of the original — the full post and photos live at littledairyontheprairie.com.
Transform ordinary carrots into festive pumpkin-shaped snacks for Halloween. With just a sharp knife, you can carve lengthwise slits and remove wedge-shaped sections to create the pumpkin silhouette. For a polished look, whittle the carrot into a rounded shape, or leave it geometric for a modern twist.
Ingredients
Directions
- With a very sharp knife, cut slits running lengthwise down the carrot.
- Carefully make a cut from the edge of the carrot, perpendicular to the first cut, stopping when it meets the first cut. You should then be able to pop out a wedge-shaped piece. Do this on the opposite side as well.
- For a smoother, more rounded pumpkin look, use the knife to gradually carve away small pieces until it's smooth—kind of like whittling wood. If you prefer a more angular, geometric pumpkin, you can leave out this step.
