Our own summary of the original — the full post and photos live at modpodgerocksblog.com.
This DIY project turns a plain foam pumpkin into a beachy decor piece. You'll cover it with nautical fabric using Mod Podge, then wrap the stem with rope for a finished look.
You'll need
Directions
- If possible, detach the pumpkin's stem before beginning. On this foam pumpkin, I could simply pull it out.
- Cut the nautical fabric into long strips that are sufficient to reach from top to bottom of the pumpkin.
- Apply a layer of Mod Podge, then gently place the fabric on top. Add another coat of Mod Podge and smooth it with a foam brush. Use your fingers to press the fabric into the pumpkin's grooves. Work in sections, allowing each to dry for 10 minutes.
- Finally, wrap the stem with decorative rope, securing it with hot glue from a glue gun.
