This easy Halloween poke cake starts with a plain white cake poked full of holes. Two different Jell-o flavors—grape and orange—are poured over separate sections and chilled until set. Finally, it's frosted with whipped vanilla frosting and topped with festive Halloween sprinkles and sugar.
Ingredients
Directions
- Take a completely cooled 9x13 white cake and poke holes all over its surface using a straw or the end of a wooden spoon.
- For each 3 oz. box of Jell-o (grape and orange), dissolve in 1 cup of boiling water, then stir in 1/2 cup of cold water. This uses 1/2 cup less cold water than the package directs.
- Carefully pour or spoon the grape Jell-o mixture over one section of the cake, making sure it seeps into the holes.
- Pour or spoon the orange Jell-o mixture over the remaining part of the cake, ensuring it fills the holes.
- Place the cake in the refrigerator for at least 3 to 4 hours, or leave it overnight, so the Jell-o sets inside the cake.
- Spread the whipped vanilla frosting evenly over the entire cake.
- Just before serving, decorate the top with Halloween sprinkles and sugar.
- Slice the cake into pieces and serve.
- Store any leftover cake in the refrigerator.
