You'll need
Directions
- Begin with a square of green cardstock measuring 8 by 8 inches. Fold it precisely in half to form a sharp center crease.
- Unfold the paper, then fold it in half the other way, making sure the crease is exact.
- Open it up again and now fold it diagonally in half, creating an X pattern of creases.
- Repeat the diagonal fold in the opposite corner, keeping your folds even and tidy.
- Fold the sides of the square inward as illustrated to form a double base triangle; this will be the base of your Frankenstein bag.
- Take one corner and fold it toward you, making a fold about 2 inches from the top edge.
- After folding the top corner down, take the corner behind it and fold it backward, as shown in the picture.
- Repeat steps 6 and 7 on the other side, making sure both sides are identical.
- Rotate the paper if needed so the pointy end faces down, as shown.
- Fold the tip of the corner so it meets the folded edge, matching the alignment in the illustration.
- Fold the bottom point upward, making a clean, accurate crease.
- Tuck the folded bottom into the gap to secure it, just like in the photo.
- Do steps 10-12 on the other side, keeping both sides even. Then flip the whole piece over and repeat the process to achieve symmetry.
- Pull the left and right sides together on both ends, as shown, hiding the folds so the smooth sides are visible.
- Fold the bottom tip upward, then flip the piece over and set it aside for now.
- Take your chosen handle paper. Cut a strip measuring 5.5 inches by 3/4 inch and fold it lengthwise into thirds.
- Fold the strip's ends down to form a U shape. Repeat with another strip to make two handles.
- Attach both handles securely to the bag with glue or tape.
- Glue the hair, screws, and eyes onto their marked positions.
- Use a black Sharpie to draw the mouth and any other details you like.
- To open the bag, find the bottom point and gently push it open from the inside with your fingers. Adjust the sides and crease the folds as needed so the bag holds its shape.
