This Graveyard Halloween Milkshake combines a creamy Neapolitan base with chocolate cookie crumb “dirt” and eerie decorations. Homemade skeleton hands and Jello worms add a ghoulish touch, while chocolate sauce and whipped cream complete the treat. It’s a fun, spooky dessert that’s sure to impress at any Halloween party.

Ingredients

Directions

  1. Prepare the skeleton hands by melting white candy melts according to package directions. Transfer the melted candy to a piping bag or a zip-top bag with a corner snipped off, then pipe skeleton hand shapes onto parchment paper. Start at the top of each finger and create a ripple every ½ to 1 inch to mimic bone joints. Ensure the wrist and arm sections are piped thickly enough to support the hand. Let the hands harden completely.
  2. For the Jello worms, first prepare the straws: straighten out all the bendy parts, gather them into a circle, and secure with a rubber band if needed so they fit snugly in a tall container. Place a slice of bread at the bottom of the straws to prevent leakage.
  3. Bring 3 cups of water to a boil, then remove from heat. Stir in 2 packages of Jello (cherry recommended) and the unflavored gelatin packets until dissolved. Add 3/4 cup heavy cream and 10-15 drops of green food coloring, stirring well.
  4. Pour the Jello mixture into the prepared straws. Refrigerate for 1-2 hours until set. Once firm, use the back of a wooden spoon or a spatula to slide or squeeze each worm out of the straws.
  5. Make the homemade whipped cream: in a stand mixer or with a hand mixer, whip heavy cream, granulated sugar, and vanilla extract until stiff peaks form. Transfer to a piping bag fitted with a Star 1M tip.
  6. Garnish the rims of your glasses: spread chocolate frosting on the rims, then dip into a mixture of crushed chocolate wafer cookies and Oreo crumbs to resemble dirt. Place the glasses in the refrigerator while you prepare the milkshake.
  7. In a blender, combine 1 ¼ cups milk, 4 cups Neapolitan ice cream, and 2 cups mixed chocolate cookie wafer and Oreo crumbs. Blend until smooth.
  8. Drizzle chocolate sauce inside the prepared glasses, then pour in the milkshake. Top with a swirl of whipped cream and more cookie crumb “dirt.” Insert a skeleton hand, a straw, and arrange Jello worms on top.
