You'll need
Directions
- Gather all materials: pumpkin images (from Design Space or elsewhere), paper plates, craft sticks, tape, iron-on vinyl, adhesive vinyl, and an orange balloon. Decide on colors for each pumpkin; for instance, if you only have orange iron-on (not adhesive), adapt accordingly.
- Load the pumpkin images into your Cricut Maker or other cutting machine. Cut out the designs. If using iron-on vinyl, remember to mirror the image before cutting so it faces the right direction.
- Weed the excess vinyl from around your cut pumpkin pieces.
- Place a pumpkin on a paper plate and press it with a Cricut EasyPress 2 or a household iron to heat-set the vinyl. Be careful not to burn the paper or melt the vinyl by using too high heat.
- Using transfer paper, align and apply the eyes, mouth, and stem pieces to create your pumpkin face.
- Flip the paper plate over and tape a craft stick to the back using strong tape, as the paddle will be used vigorously.
- Start tossing the balloon with your paddles for a fun Halloween game. Make enough paddles for all players. This works great for classroom parties, especially outdoors. Keep extra balloons on hand since popping is inevitable.
