These Halloween apple and peanut butter monster mouths are a fun, no-bake treat. Core and quarter green apples, carve a mouth, then fill with peanut butter and peanut teeth. Top with a marshmallow and chocolate chip eye for a wickedly adorable snack.
Ingredients
Directions
- Core and slice 3 medium green apples into quarters. If you plan to serve them later, brush the cut surfaces with lemon juice to prevent browning. Then, carefully carve a mouth-shaped opening in the center of each apple quarter.
- Spread a layer of peanut butter (about 1/2 cup total) on both the top and bottom inner surfaces of the mouth. Line up unsalted peanuts (1/3 cup, more or less as needed) inside the mouth to form teeth. If the peanuts are too large, attach them only to the bottom jaw.
- For the eye, place a mini marshmallow on top of the apple and press a mini chocolate chip into its center. Secure with a dot of peanut butter or insert a toothpick through the marshmallow and into the apple. Refrigerate the monster mouths until the peanut butter firms up.
