Our own summary of the original by Jillian Hatfield — the full post and photos live at sarahscoopeats.com.
These Halloween cheese and pretzel broomsticks are a fun, no-bake treat. Simply cut string cheese to create bristles, insert a pretzel stick as the handle, and tie with chives. Add a tiny witch's hat for extra flair, then serve on a platter.
Ingredients
Directions
- Slice each string cheese piece in half to form shorter broom handles.
- Make cuts or pull apart the cheese about three-quarters of the way up to create bristles resembling a broom.
- Insert a mini pretzel stick into the uncut end of the cheese, pushing until it feels secure.
- Wrap a chive or thin green onion strip around the cheese where the pretzel meets it, tying it to look like a bound broom.
- Repeat the process to create as many broomsticks as desired.
- For a decorative hat, place a small black olive piece on top and a cheese triangle as the brim, attaching them to the chive tie.
- Arrange the finished broomsticks on a serving platter and enjoy as a Halloween snack.
