Our own summary of the original — the full post and photos live at thecraftedsparrow.com.
This craft transforms foam sheets and felt strips into cute, fringed Halloween monsters. You'll cut foam to size, prepare fringed felt bands to wrap around the blocks, and glue them on evenly. Finally, add felt eyes and mouths (or other decorations) to give each monster a unique expression.
You'll need
Directions
- Use a foam saw or electric cutter to trim the foam sheet down to your desired dimensions.
- Snip felt strips that are long enough to encircle your foam blocks, making each strip 1 to 1.5 inches wide.
- To form fringe, take each felt piece, fold it in half lengthwise, and snip small cuts along the folded edge with sharp scissors.
- With a hot glue gun, attach the fringed felt strips to your foam block, placing them at even intervals. Apply glue to the front side first, then the back.
- Craft eyes and mouths out of felt, or incorporate other embellishments to give each monster its own personality.
