Transform ordinary hot dogs into ghoulish fingers by carving fingernails and knuckles before pan-frying. Serve on buns with toppings hidden underneath to let the finger shape take center stage.
Ingredients
Directions
- For the fingernails, use a knife to cut a shape: first cut along both sides, then across the top, and finally a gentle curved cut at the bottom to form the nail bed. All cuts should be very shallow, around 1/8 of an inch deep.
- Carefully lift and remove that top piece of skin to reveal the nail.
- To create knuckles, make a single straight slit down the middle of the hot dog, then two crescent-shaped slits just above and below that center line.
- Coat a large frying pan with nonstick cooking spray and heat on medium-high. Cook the hot dogs until every side is done and lightly golden.
- Set up the buns with your preferred toppings, placing the toppings underneath so the 'finger' remains the star.
- Put each cooked hot dog finger into its bun.
