Our own summary of the original by Kathryn Donangelo — the full post and photos live at kathrynskitchenblog.com.
This Halloween popcorn mix combines light buttered popcorn with a homemade honey-vanilla syrup, then loads it with candy corn, pumpkins, Reese's pieces, pretzels, and candy eyeballs. After a quick 15-minute cool-down on a baking sheet, it's ready to serve as a fun party snack.
Ingredients
Directions
- Start by pouring the popped popcorn into a big mixing bowl and leaving it to the side.
- In a medium pot, mix together the granulated sugar, unsalted butter, honey, water, vanilla extract, and salt. Heat on medium while stirring constantly until it reaches a boil, then let it bubble for two to three minutes to fully dissolve the sugar.
- Take the pot off the heat and drizzle the hot syrup over the popcorn. Use a silicone spatula or wooden spoon to fold and toss until every kernel is coated.
- Toss in the candy corn, candy pumpkins, Reese's pieces, broken pretzel pieces, and candy eyeballs. Stir until everything sticks together, then spread the mixture on a parchment-lined baking sheet and let it rest for 15 minutes to set. Transfer to a serving bowl and dig in!
