This Halloween puppy chow recipe uses both chocolate and white chocolate coatings, mixed with Chex cereal and powdered sugar. Candy corn and candy eyes add a festive touch. It's an easy, no-bake treat perfect for parties.

Ingredients

Directions

  1. In a microwave-safe bowl, combine 1/2 cup chocolate chips, 1/4 cup peanut butter, 1/8 cup butter, and 1/2 teaspoon vanilla.
  2. Microwave the mixture for 30 seconds, then stir. Repeat this process until the chocolate is fully melted and the combination is smooth.
  3. Place half of the Chex cereal (about 4.5 cups) into a large mixing bowl.
  4. Pour the melted chocolate mixture over the cereal.
  5. Gently fold the cereal with a spatula until it is evenly coated with chocolate.
  6. Put 1 cup of powdered sugar into a gallon-sized ziplock bag.
  7. Transfer the chocolate-covered cereal into the bag.
  8. Seal the bag and shake it until the cereal is coated with powdered sugar.
  9. Repeat steps 1 through 8 using the white chocolate chips, the remaining 1/4 cup peanut butter, remaining 1/8 cup butter, remaining 1/2 teaspoon vanilla, the other half of the Chex cereal (4.5 cups), and the remaining 1 cup powdered sugar.
  10. Combine both the chocolate and white chocolate puppy chow mixtures on a baking sheet. Sprinkle in 1 cup of candy corn and some candy eyes, then gently stir to distribute.
  11. Let the puppy chow cool before serving. Store any leftovers in an airtight container.
