These spooky spider deviled eggs are a fun Halloween treat. Hard-boiled eggs are halved and filled with a creamy yolk mixture, then topped with olive spider bodies and thin olive legs. Finish with candy googly eyes for a ghoulishly cute look.
Ingredients
Directions
- Slice each hard-boiled egg lengthwise into two halves.
- Gently remove the yolks and put them in a small bowl. Mix in 1 tablespoon mayonnaise, 1 teaspoon mustard, and a pinch of kosher salt. Mash with the back of a spoon until smooth. If the mixture seems too dry, add another half teaspoon of mayonnaise.
- Spoon or pipe the yolk mixture back into the egg white halves.
- Take 3 of the pitted black olives and cut them in half lengthwise. Place one half cut-side down on top of the yolk mixture on each egg—this forms the spider's body. Cut the remaining 5 olives in half lengthwise, then slice each half horizontally into thin strips to create eight legs per spider.
- Arrange three leg strips on each side of the olive body, pressing them gently into the yolk. Repeat for all eggs. Cover and chill until ready to serve. Just before serving, stick two candy googly eyes onto each olive body.
