This Halloween wreath features a twisted pipe cleaner tree adorned with bat clips and a black cat. String purple or black fairy lights through the branches for an eerie glow. Perfect for adding a spooky touch to your door or wall.

You'll need

Directions

  1. Print the SVG design onto an 8.5x11 inch shrink plastic sheet and cut it out using a cutting machine.
  2. Bake the cut shrink plastic in the oven until it shrinks. Once out, press it flat for 5-10 seconds with a flat object like a stamp block.
  3. If desired, spray paint the wreath and let it dry completely for 24 hours.
  4. Twist together 14 black pipe cleaners to form the tree roots and base.
  5. Add 8 more pipe cleaners twisted into the top to continue building the tree and branches.
  6. Use 5-6 additional pipe cleaners to round out the tree shape and create more branches.
  7. Attach the roots by twisting them around the wreath's twigs on the lower left side.
  8. Work your way around the tree, gently bending and rounding it toward the right side.
  9. Add extra pipe cleaners as needed to fill out the tree.
  10. Hot glue the pipe cleaners to each other and to the wreath to secure the tree.
  11. Once the tree is glued and you're satisfied, hot glue the bat clips around the upper part so they appear perched or circling.
  12. Choose a spot for the black cat near the bottom of the tree and hot glue it in place.
  13. Flip the wreath over and string the 50 fairy lights, wrapping them around small sections. If the wreath has small wires holding twigs, wrap the lights around those as you go back and forth and up and down.
  14. Ensure the lights are secure and working. Then use zip ties to attach the battery pack to the back of the wreath, hiding it near the tree's base.
  15. Hang the wreath and turn on the lights to enjoy.
