These Halloween spider cookies are simple to make: bake cookies, create a divot, add a mini Reese's, attach candy eyes, and pipe chocolate legs. Kids will love the cute and creepy result.

Ingredients

Directions

  1. Prepare cookies according to recipe or package directions. While cookies are still hot from the oven, press a teaspoon measuring spoon into the center of each to create an indentation. Let cookies cool completely.
  2. Meanwhile, put one cup of semi-sweet chocolate chips in a microwave-safe bowl. Heat in 12-second bursts, stirring between each, until fully melted. This chocolate will be used to form spider legs.
  3. Position a mini Reese’s Peanut Butter Cup in the center of each cookie, fitting into the divot. Put a small amount of melted chocolate on the back of each candy eye and attach them to the peanut butter cup to make eyes. Then use the remaining melted chocolate to pipe eight spider legs onto each cookie (I used the smallest decorating tip from a Wilton set). Allow the chocolate to set completely.
