Directions
- Start by printing your chosen clip-art template on plain white uncoated paper. Carefully cut around the outer edge of the design. The cutout sections inside the design are either white or orange, so pick the version that matches your pumpkin’s color—use the orange cutouts for orange pumpkins and white cutouts for white pumpkins.
- Print the starburst templates and cut out each shape. Stack up to 12 sheets of colored tissue paper together and secure them with binder clips. Place a starburst template on the top tissue layer, trace around it, then cut through all the stacked layers. Move the binder clips as needed to keep everything in place while cutting.
- Apply a coat of découpage medium onto your pumpkin with a paintbrush. While it’s still wet, press the clip-art (such as a cat or mice) onto the pumpkin, adding the colorful starbursts underneath the clip-art as you position it. Brush another layer of découpage medium over the paper and the surrounding area, then let it dry completely.
