This costume uses two white leotards, feather boas, and a pilot cap to create a full chicken look. The double-layer leotard is stuffed for a plump body, while the hat features a red felt comb. Yellow rubber gloves on white canvas shoes become chicken feet.

Directions
- For the body suit, slide one leotard inside the other and stitch the leg openings together using embroidery floss. While sewing, fill the leotards with a pillow or a bag of fiberfill to give them volume. Then, add fiberfill in between the two layers and sew the necklines together. The stuffing gives a rounder shape and also provides warmth.
- Drape the feather boas across and around the body, holding them in place with safety pins. Sew the leotards together at the neckline, making hand stitches every 4 inches. Remove the bag used for stuffing from the sewn leotards.
- For the hat, download and print the chicken comb template. Use it to cut two pieces of red felt. Sew the comb pieces together with a 1/4-inch seam, leaving the bottom open. Turn the comb right side out and stuff the peaks with batting. Stretch the hat over an upside-down bowl or similar rounded object, then attach the comb with a low-temperature hot glue gun. Use low heat to prevent burning the fabric or your fingers, especially if children are helping.
- For the feet, cut off the rolled edge of the gloves at the opening and stuff the fingers with batting. Slip a shoe into a glove with the palm side down. Pull the glove tight so the fingers arch upward to avoid tripping. Use hot glue to secure the bottom edge of the glove to the top of the shoe's back. Cut a slit in the center of the glove from the tongue of the shoe to the end, and cut notches near the shoe tongue. Fold the edges into the shoe and secure with hot glue.
