This project shows you how to create beautiful leaf decoupage pumpkins using tissue paper and bird clip-art. You'll cut layered leaves and optional bird shapes, then adhere them with découpage medium for a stunning seasonal decoration. The process is simple and yields vibrant results.

You'll need

Directions

  1. Start by printing the autumn leaves template. Then stack up to 12 sheets of colored tissue paper and fasten them with binder clips. Trace the leaf shapes onto the top tissue layer, then cut through all layers, moving clips as you go to keep the stack secure.
  2. Next, print the bird clip-art template on plain uncoated paper. Cut around the outer edges. Note that the bird's inner cutouts appear white, so it may look best on a white pumpkin. This step is optional—you can skip the bird and just use leaves.
  3. Brush a coat of découpage medium onto the pumpkin. Smooth the bird clip-art into place. Then brush another coat of découpage medium over the bird, the leaves, and the area around them. Let everything dry completely.
