This guide walks you through creating a decorative pumpkin pillow perfect for Halloween decor. You will measure and cut a fabric circle, gather and stuff it, then use felt and hot glue to add classic pumpkin details like sections and a stem.

You'll need

Directions

  1. Wrap the yarn around the pen and secure it with a knot to create a makeshift compass.
  2. Lay your fabric flat and fold it in half. Use the pen to draw a half-circle shape along the folded edge.
  3. Carefully cut along the drawn line to shape the fabric.
  4. Thread the yarn needle and sew a running stitch around the entire edge of the fabric circle.
  5. Pull the yarn tight to gather the fabric into a pouch shape.
  6. Stuff the pouch generously with fiberfill until it reaches your desired plumpness.
  7. Use the hot glue gun to attach the 3-by-8-inch felt piece in a cross pattern on the front of the pillow to create pumpkin sections.
  8. Cut a small circle from the remaining fabric and glue it to the bottom to cover the opening.
  9. Shape the remaining felt into a curved stem and glue it to the top center of the pillow.
