This guide shows how to repurpose one batch of cooled brown butter Rice Krispies Treats into three distinct Halloween snacks. You will slice the treats into triangles for candy corn designs, rectangles for monsters with colorful candy melt hair and chopped white chocolate teeth, and ghost shapes decorated with white candy melts and mini chocolate chip eyes.
Ingredients
Directions
- Slice the cooled brown butter Rice Krispies Treats into triangular shapes. Apply melted candy melts to create a candy corn effect: start with white at the pointed end and finish with orange at the base.
- Trim the remaining treats into rectangular blocks to serve as the bodies for your monsters.
- Dip the top portion of each rectangle into different shades of melted candy melts to create colorful monster hair.
- Place a small dot of melted candy on the treat to secure the candy eyeballs in place.
- Finely chop some of the unmelted white chocolate chips to form tiny teeth for your monsters.
- Cut ghost shapes from the leftover treat slab using a knife or a ghost-shaped cookie cutter. (PRO-TIP: Lightly coat the blade of your knife or the cookie cutter with cooking spray before you use it so that it can effortlessly cut into the sticky treats.)
- Cover the ghost shapes entirely with white candy melts and press mini chocolate chips onto the front to create eyes.
