These kid-friendly Halloween snacks turn simple fruits and cheeses into monsters, ghosts, and witches. With just a few ingredients like chocolate, pretzels, and candy eyes, you can create banana ghosts, strawberry monsters, kiwi Frankenstein, and more. Perfect for parties or a fun family activity.

Ingredients

Directions

  1. Melt the dark chocolate and white candy melts separately in the microwave, heating in about 20-second bursts and stirring after each, until smooth. Then transfer each to a piping bag and cut a small tip off.
  2. Peel the bananas and cut them in half crosswise. Use the melted dark chocolate to pipe two eyes and a round "O" shape for the mouth on each banana half.
  3. With a small sharp knife, slice off the tops of the strawberries so they can stand flat on a serving plate.
  4. On one side of each strawberry's top, pipe a "U" shaped mouth using dark chocolate. Then use the white candy melts to pipe zigzag teeth starting from the outer edge of the mouth and moving inward.
  5. Peel the clementine or mandarin oranges. Insert small pieces of cilantro or parsley stems into the top to resemble a pumpkin stem.
  6. Unwrap the mozzarella cheese sticks and cut each into three pieces. Using clean scissors or a small knife, make several cuts into the bottom half of each piece to create bristles. Insert a pretzel stick into the top to form a broom handle.
  7. Using a small sharp knife or vegetable peeler, remove the fuzzy brown skin from the bottom two-thirds of each kiwi. Slice the kiwi in half and lay cut-side up on a plate. Pat the kiwi dry with a paper towel. Pipe a scar and a line for a mouth using melted dark chocolate. Pipe two dots of chocolate and press a candy eyeball sprinkle onto each. Break pretzel sticks and insert one on each side of the kiwi to look like bolts.
