This kid-friendly recipe collection transforms bananas, strawberries, oranges, mozzarella sticks, and kiwi into fun Halloween characters. With simple steps using melted chocolate and a few garnishes, you’ll create banana ghosts, strawberry monsters, orange pumpkins, cheese broomsticks, and kiwi Frankensteins. Perfect for a festive snack table!

Ingredients

Directions

  1. Heat the dark chocolate and white candy melts in a microwave in 20-second intervals, stirring after each, until smooth. Spoon into piping bags and cut a small opening.
  2. Peel bananas and cut in half crosswise. Using dark chocolate, pipe eyes and an "O" mouth on each half.
  3. With a small knife, slice off the strawberry tops so they sit flat.
  4. Pipe a "U" shape mouth on one side of each strawberry with dark chocolate. Then use white chocolate to pipe zigzag teeth inward from the edge.
  5. Peel the oranges. Insert small pieces of cilantro or parsley into the top to look like a pumpkin stem.
  6. Unwrap mozzarella sticks and cut into thirds. Use scissors or a knife to make several small cuts on the bottom half of each piece, creating bristles. Insert a pretzel stick into the top as a broom handle.
  7. Using a knife or peeler, remove the fuzzy skin from the bottom two-thirds of each kiwi. Cut in half lengthwise and place on a plate.
  8. Pat kiwi dry with a paper towel. Pipe a scar and mouth line with dark chocolate. Add two dots for eyes, then attach candy eyeballs. Break pretzel sticks and insert into each side as bolts.
