These galaxy-inspired cocktails use butterfly pea flower to transform colors from blue to purple. Multiple variations—from minty kiwi to ginger tonic—each feature a different spirit and unique ice cubes. The drinks also glow under black light, adding an extra eerie effect.

Ingredients

Directions

  1. In a julep cup, combine kiwi fruit juice, mint leaves, a slice of kiwi fruit, a quarter of a lime, and simple syrup. Muddle everything together until the mint leaves are broken up.
  2. Add creme de menthe and enough crushed ice to fill the glass. Drizzle lime juice over the ice, then pour in butterfly pea infused vodka.
  3. Finish by adding crushed color-changing magic ice on top and serve. Encourage guests to stir the drink to trigger the color shift.
  4. Combine lemon juice and water, then pour the mixture into an ice cube tray and freeze overnight. Once frozen, crush the cubes in a blender and keep the crushed ice in the freezer until ready.
  5. Rub a lime wedge around the rim of a glass, then dip the rim into salt to coat it.
  6. Fill the glass halfway with crushed lemon ice.
  7. Pour in lime juice, simple syrup, and triple sec, then stir to blend.
  8. Carefully layer butterfly pea infused tequila on top using the back of a spoon. Add color-changing magic ice, and garnish with a slice each of lemon and lime.
  9. Drop frozen raspberries into a glass and add a small amount of crushed ice.
  10. Mix lemon juice, simple syrup, and vermouth, then stir to combine.
  11. Gently pour butterfly pea infused gin over the back of a spoon to form a separate layer. Serve.
  12. Fill ice cube trays with tonic water and freeze overnight. Crush the frozen cubes in a blender and store in the freezer until needed.
  13. Slice the ginger piece into thin rounds. Place the ginger slices, water, and agave syrup in a small food processor and blend until the ginger is fully incorporated.
  14. Transfer the ginger-agave mixture to a small saucepan and bring to a boil over medium heat. Let it simmer for a few minutes, then allow to infuse for about 30 minutes. Strain through a nut milk bag, pour into a sealable bottle, and refrigerate.
  15. Fill a Moscow mule mug or highball glass with crushed tonic ice.
  16. Pour ginger syrup and lime juice over the ice.
  17. Add butterfly pea infused vodka, then top with extra tonic water or club soda.
  18. This cocktail glows under black light, especially when chunks of tonic ice are visible in the drink.
