These Monster Mash-mallow Cereal Bars are a playful twist on classic rice crispy treats, using colorful monster cereal and marshmallows. Ready in just over 30 minutes, they're perfect for Halloween parties or a kid-friendly activity. Store leftovers for up to two days.

Directions

Apply a thin coat of cooking spray to a 7x11-inch baking dish.

In a big saucepan, warm the 3 tablespoons of butter over medium flame until completely liquid. Then add the 10-ounce bag of mini marshmallows, decrease the heat to low, and stir continuously until the marshmallows are fully melted and smooth.

Take the pan off the burner. Pour in the 5 cups of monster cereal and mix thoroughly until every piece is coated.

Transfer the mixture into the prepared dish. Using a piece of wax paper or a wooden spoon that has been misted with cooking spray, press the mixture down firmly into an even, compact layer.

Allow the bars to cool at room temperature for roughly 30 minutes. Then slice them into squares and serve.

Store any remaining bars in a loosely covered container and enjoy them within two days.
