These pizza skulls are a deliciously spooky snack that's perfect for Halloween. Made with refrigerated pizza crust dough, mozzarella cheese, pizza sauce, mini pepperoni, Parmesan cheese, and Italian seasoning, they're baked to golden perfection and served with extra sauce for dipping.

Ingredients

Directions

  1. Gather your ingredients and tools.
  2. Preheat your oven to 400℉. On a clean countertop, roll the pizza crust dough into a 15- by 10-inch rectangle. Cut the dough into six 5-inch squares.
  3. Take one dough square and press it into a single cavity of a 6-cavity nonstick skull-shaped cakelet pan.
  4. Layer the filling in the center of the dough: 1 tablespoon of mozzarella, 1 tablespoon of pizza sauce, 1 tablespoon of mini pepperoni, 1 tablespoon of mozzarella, 1 tablespoon of pizza sauce, 1 tablespoon of mozzarella, 1 tablespoon of Parmesan, and 1/4 teaspoon of Italian seasoning.
  5. Bring the edges of the dough together over the filling and pinch them tightly to seal. Trim off any extra dough and discard it.
  6. Repeat the filling and sealing process with the remaining dough squares and all the cheese, sauce, pepperoni, and seasoning.
  7. Bake the skulls in the preheated oven for 16 to 18 minutes, or until they are cooked through and lightly golden.
  8. Carefully remove the baked skulls from the pan and place them on a serving plate. Allow them to cool for 5 minutes before serving with extra pizza sauce for dipping, if you like. Recipe developed by Nicole Hopper
