These pumpkin crispy treats are a fun twist on classic Rice Krispies squares, flavored with pumpkin pie spice and colored orange. Melt butter and marshmallows with spices, stir in cereal, press into a pan, and decorate with sprinkles. Let them cool, then cut into shapes for a festive Halloween snack.
Ingredients
Directions
- Lightly coat a 9x13-inch baking dish with nonstick cooking spray and set it aside.
- Pour the Rice Krispies into a large mixing bowl and set that aside too.
- In a large saucepan over low heat, melt the butter. Then add the mini marshmallows, pumpkin pie spice, vanilla extract, salt, and orange food coloring if desired. Stir continuously until everything is fully melted and smooth.
- Remove the saucepan from the heat, dump in the cereal, and mix thoroughly until every piece is coated.
- With a spatula that's been sprayed with nonstick spray, gently press the mixture evenly into the prepared pan. Add sprinkles on top if desired. Let the treats cool completely before slicing into squares or using cookie cutters to cut shapes. Store in an airtight container for up to a week.
