This fun recipe transforms ordinary pasta bake into a creepy Halloween dish. Juicy meatballs topped with olive 'pupils' give it a monstrous look, while the cheesy marinara sauce makes it a comforting family meal. Ready in under an hour, it's perfect for a festive dinner.
Ingredients
Directions
- Set the oven to 350°F (175°C) and lightly coat a 9x13-inch baking dish with oil or butter.
- Fill a large pot with water, add salt, bring to a boil. Cook the pasta until firm to the bite, about 8-10 minutes. Strain the water and set pasta aside.
- In a big mixing bowl, toss the cooked pasta with marinara sauce and about half of the mozzarella.
- Pour the mixture into the prepared dish and spread the rest of the mozzarella evenly over the top.
- Set the meatballs onto the pasta layer, then insert a black olive slice into each meatball to look like an eyeball.
- Put the dish in the oven and bake until the cheese melts and turns golden, roughly 25-30 minutes.
- Allow it to rest for 5-10 minutes, then sprinkle fresh basil leaves over the top before serving.
