This guide shows how to carve a pumpkin that spews liquid from its mouth. You'll cut a bottom hole, hollow it out, and carve a face. Then add a tube through the bottom and fill with water or fake blood to create a dramatic spewing effect.
You'll need
Directions
- Slice an opening in the pumpkin's base to create a stable stand and make room for the spewing setup.
- Through the bottom opening, remove all seeds and stringy pulp from the interior.
- Sketch a face or pattern onto the pumpkin using a marker; a large open mouth works well for the spitting effect.
- Carefully cut along your drawn lines with a carving knife, then remove the cut pieces.
- Place a tube or funnel through the bottom hole, aiming it so the other end reaches the mouth or another carved opening; fasten with tape if necessary.
- Pour a liquid such as water or fake blood into the pumpkin, then pressurize or tip it to make the liquid spew out.
