Book Character Pumpkin Decorating Contest
Transform your pumpkin into a storybook character with colorful paper squares and Modge Podge.
Our own summary of the original — the full post and photos live at greeneacreshobbyfarm.blogspot.com.
This easy pumpkin decorating project uses paper squares and decoupage to create a book character look. Cut colorful squares, cover the pumpkin and a paper towel holder with Modge Podge, then add features like ears and a trunk with hot glue and small nails for a lasting finish.
You'll need
Directions
- Cut an assortment of different colored squares from regular paper.
- Apply a heavy coat of Modge Podge to the pumpkin and press the paper squares onto it. (We used a toothbrush instead of a paint brush for this step!)
- Cover a paper towel holder with paper squares using Modge Podge.
- Hot glue ears, googly eyes, and a trunk onto the pumpkin (we named ours Elmer). For extra security, hammer a few small nails into the trunk and ears to keep them in place.
