Create festive Halloween milkshakes by layering softened vanilla ice cream and orange sherbet in clear cups. Tint one portion of the ice cream yellow, freeze each layer briefly to set, and finish with whipped cream and colorful sprinkles for a fun, seasonal dessert.

Ingredients

Directions

  1. Allow the vanilla ice cream to sit at room temperature for roughly 25 minutes. Once it has softened, scoop one-third of the container into a separate bowl and return the remaining ice cream to the freezer. Stir in yellow food coloring until you achieve your preferred hue, blending thoroughly.
  2. Remove the orange sherbet from the freezer and let it begin to soften.
  3. Spoon the tinted yellow ice cream into the bottom of your chosen serving vessels, such as mason jars, clear plastic cups, or glass tumblers, filling them approximately one-third of the way. Even out the surface, then use a paper towel to clean any smudges from the interior walls. Freeze the vessels for 5 to 10 minutes to set the base layer.
  4. Retrieve the vanilla ice cream from the freezer and let it soften slightly.
  5. Take the cups out of the freezer and carefully layer the orange sherbet on top, filling them to about two-thirds full. Level the surface and wipe away any excess from the sides with a paper towel. Return the cups to the freezer for another 5 to 10 minutes.
  6. Remove the cups once more and add the final layer of vanilla ice cream, stopping about half an inch from the rim. Smooth the top surface flat.
  7. Finish each treat with a dollop of whipped cream or Cool Whip, followed by a generous sprinkle of black, yellow, and orange decorations. Keep the desserts frozen until you are ready to serve them.
