These candy corn popcorn balls combine crunchy popcorn, candy corn, and peanuts with a gooey marshmallow-butter binder. After popping the kernels with a touch of sugar, you mix them with the candies and nuts, then coat everything in melted marshmallows and butter. Shape into balls and let cool for a festive treat.
Ingredients
Directions
- In a large pot over medium-high heat, combine the popcorn kernels and peanut oil. Once the oil begins to sizzle, sprinkle in the sugar. Cover the pot with a tight lid and shake it continuously until the popping slows, roughly 8 minutes. Remove from heat and transfer the popcorn to a baking sheet lined with parchment paper, using a spatula to separate the kernels. Allow to cool completely.
- Spray a large bowl with cooking spray. Add the cooled popcorn, candy corn, and salted roasted peanuts to the bowl.
- In another large pot over medium-high heat, combine the mini marshmallows and salted butter. Cook, stirring constantly, until fully melted and smooth, about 5 minutes. Pour the marshmallow mixture over the popcorn mixture and stir gently to coat evenly. Spray your hands with cooking spray, then shape the mixture into 3-inch balls. Let them cool before serving.
