This creepy Halloween dinner features savory meatballs topped with olive-and-cherry eyeballs, all baked in a tangy sauce and served over spaghetti. The recipe is simple to follow and yields 12 deliciously ghoulish portions.

Ingredients

Equipment

  • Large bowl
  • Baking dish
  • Oven

Directions

  1. In a large mixing bowl, thoroughly mix the ground beef with ketchup, brown sugar, mustard, garlic powder, onion powder, black pepper, and salt.
  2. Divide the mixture into a dozen equal-sized balls, rolling them gently.
  3. In a separate small bowl, stir together the spaghetti sauce and water.
  4. Arrange the meatballs in a baking dish, then pour the sauce mixture evenly over them.
  5. Bake in a preheated 350°F oven for half an hour.
  6. Take one large olive per meatball. Carefully cut a small slit in the center of each olive and push a maraschino cherry into the slit so it looks like an eyeball.
  7. Set one olive eyeball on top of each meatball. Put the dish back in the oven and bake for another 5 minutes.
  8. Dish up over cooked spaghetti.
