DIY Pumpkin Carving With A Drill
Transform your jack-o'-lantern with a power drill for perfectly precise, modern patterns.
Our own summary of the original — the full post and photos live at thegardenglove.com.
This unique carving method uses a drill to create clean, circular holes in your pumpkin. By marking your design with tape and a skewer, you can drill straight through to form intricate patterns. A small knife helps tidy up any rough edges for a polished finish.
You'll need
Directions
- Design your pattern and apply painters tape to the pumpkin surface to guide you. Use a dry erase marker to sketch your design on the tape, then poke through each mark with a skewer to create starter holes that the drill bit can easily follow.
- Select different sized drill bits and drill straight into the pumpkin at the starter holes. For best results, have one person steady the pumpkin while another operates the drill.
- Clear away debris and scoop out the pumpkin insides if you haven't already. Use a small knife to trim any holes that didn't come out cleanly.
