This easy Halloween poke cake starts with a plain white cake poked full of holes. Two different Jell-o flavors—grape and orange—are poured over separate sections and chilled until set. Finally, it's frosted with whipped vanilla frosting and topped with festive Halloween sprinkles and sugar.

Ingredients

Directions

  1. Take a completely cooled 9x13 white cake and poke holes all over its surface using a straw or the end of a wooden spoon.
  2. For each 3 oz. box of Jell-o (grape and orange), dissolve in 1 cup of boiling water, then stir in 1/2 cup of cold water. This uses 1/2 cup less cold water than the package directs.
  3. Carefully pour or spoon the grape Jell-o mixture over one section of the cake, making sure it seeps into the holes.
  4. Pour or spoon the orange Jell-o mixture over the remaining part of the cake, ensuring it fills the holes.
  5. Place the cake in the refrigerator for at least 3 to 4 hours, or leave it overnight, so the Jell-o sets inside the cake.
  6. Spread the whipped vanilla frosting evenly over the entire cake.
  7. Just before serving, decorate the top with Halloween sprinkles and sugar.
  8. Slice the cake into pieces and serve.
  9. Store any leftover cake in the refrigerator.
