Spookylicious Vampire Cookies: A Halloween Fun Treat!

These vampire cookies are a fun and simple Halloween project. Just halve soft chocolate chip cookies, add pink frosting gums and marshmallow teeth, then press together and insert almond fangs. Optional red icing gives a bloody finishing touch.

Ingredients

Directions

  1. Begin by arranging your chocolate chip cookies on a flat, clean work surface. If you have time and want extra fun, you can bake a batch from scratch with your little ones.
  2. Slice each cookie in half. This cutting should be done by an adult or an older child with supervision, or use a child-friendly knife.
  3. Using pink frosting, pipe a line along the rounded edge of each cookie half to create the 'gums.' A piping bag, a zip-top bag with a corner snipped, or a kid-friendly piping bulb works well. Don't stress over perfection—vampires aren't tidy! Make sure to pipe a generous amount near the edge so the pink is visible.
  4. On the bottom cookie half, place mini marshmallows in a row along the pink frosting line to form the teeth. This is a great fine motor task that kids love.
  5. Carefully press the top cookie half onto the marshmallows, letting the 'teeth' stick out for a spooky effect.
  6. To make the fangs, insert a slivered almond on each side of the marshmallow line, with the pointed end facing downward. For extra fright, add drips of red gel icing to resemble blood.
