From the original
"Halloween Candy" is a season three episode of the sitcom Everybody Loves Raymond, directed by Steve Zuckerman and written by Steve Skrovan. It aired October 26, 1998 on CBS and runs 22 minutes. According to Philip Rosenthal, the show's team long wanted to make an adult-themed family episode; Skrovan pitched the idea to CBS before that season's filming, but the network rejected it because the show then aired Friday nights. It was only produced once the series moved to Mondays at 9:00 PM in its third year. The episode was Skrovan and Zuckerman's second collaboration that season, following "Getting Even." Reception was warm: The Palm Beach Post called it one of the funniest moments of the 1998–99 season, The Oregonian ranked it the seventh best episode of the whole series, and DVD Verdict's Russell Engebretson named it his favorite season three installment. As of October 2019 it held an 8.1/10 IMDb rating, the eighth highest-rated Halloween-themed TV episode there, and both Tech Times and International Business Times listed it among best Halloween episodes to stream on Netflix.
