Halloween Chex Mix

Directions

1. Place the Honey Nut Chex into a large bowl that is safe for microwave use.
2. Combine the butter, brown sugar, granulated sugar, and water in a separate 2-cup microwave-safe container. Heat the mixture for one minute, then stir until it becomes smooth and fully melted. If necessary, continue heating in 30-second intervals until the ingredients are completely combined. Once melted, whisk in the baking soda until it disappears.
3. Drizzle the warm sugar mixture over the cereal and toss everything together until the pieces are thoroughly coated.
4. Return the bowl to the microwave and heat for 30 seconds, then give it a good stir. Continue this cycle of heating and stirring for a total of two and a half minutes. Afterward, spread the coated cereal onto a baking sheet and let it rest for 15 minutes to cool.
5. Transfer the cooled cereal to a large mixing bowl. Add the popped popcorn, Reese's Pieces, candy corn, and chocolate chips, then toss everything together. Keep the finished snack in a sealed container at room temperature.
