- Ensure the pumpkin surface is clean and dry. Select a Halloween design, resize it to match your pumpkin, and print it on regular paper. Trim the paper around the design, and cut a piece of graphite transfer paper about the same size. Use tape to attach both sheets to the pumpkin where you want the design. Carefully outline the design with a pencil, occasionally lifting the transfer paper to check the tracing.
