Our own summary of the original by Brittanie — the full post and photos live at kidsactivitiesblog.com.
This easy DIY project uses a plastic mason jar, plastic eyeballs, and an LED candle to create a creepy lantern. The eyeballs are packed inside, the candle is taped to the lid, and green cloth is draped over the jar for a haunting effect.

Directions
- Remove the lid from a plastic mason jar and fill the jar with plastic eyeballs, packing them tightly so they don't shift around.
- Attach an LED votive candle to the underside of the lid using double-sided tape. Turn the candle on before taping it, and avoid using glue so you can turn it off later.
- Screw the lid back onto the jar. You may need to adjust the eyeballs to make room for the votive candle inside.
- Drape green creepy cloth over the jar, ensuring the eyeballs remain visible. Once positioned, secure the cloth to the jar with hot glue.
- Display the lantern at night or in a dark place to see the eyes glow.
