Transform ordinary hot dogs into adorable mummies by wrapping them with crescent dough strips and baking until golden. Add cheese for extra gooeyness and serve with mustard or mayo for dipping. A fun, kid-friendly Halloween treat that comes together in under 30 minutes.
Ingredients
Directions
- Preheat your oven to 375°F.
- Remove the hot dogs from their packaging and pat them dry with paper towels; set aside.
- Carefully unroll the crescent dough. Do not separate into individual triangles; instead, separate at the perforations that join every two triangles, yielding 4 rectangles (each made of 2 triangles).
- On each rectangle, gently press together the seam where the two triangles meet so you have a smooth, even piece of dough.
- Cut each rectangle lengthwise into ten 1/4-inch-wide strips. This will give you a total of 40 strips.
- Wrap 4 strips around each hot dog, stretching the dough slightly as you go. Leave small gaps so the hot dog is visible. If desired, place a slice of cheese on one side of the hot dog before wrapping, then secure the cheese with the dough strips.
- Arrange the wrapped hot dogs on an ungreased baking sheet. If using cheese, place them cheese side down.
- Bake for 13 to 17 minutes, until the dough turns light golden brown.
- Serve right away with your favorite dipping sauce, like mustard or mayo.
