This collection of Halloween snacks offers creative ways to turn everyday ingredients into festive treats. Using apples, bananas, grapes, and other fruits alongside simple decorations like candy eyes and chocolate chips, you can craft spooky yet nutritious options. Each recipe requires minimal preparation and focuses on visual fun, making them perfect for children to help assemble and enjoy during the holiday.

Ingredients

Directions

  1. Slice each apple in half. Gently press a candy eye into the flesh of each half to create the eyes. Spread a thin layer of peanut butter over the cut surface, then arrange almond slivers along the edge to resemble teeth. For the tongue, attach a banana slice or strawberry piece using a dab of peanut butter.
  2. Peel the bananas and cut them into thick rounds. Press two candy eyes onto each round to form eyes, then add chocolate chips to create a spooky mouth. These banana ghosts can be enjoyed on their own or placed atop a slice of toasted whole wheat bread spread with peanut butter.
  3. Thread alternating pieces of banana, grapes, and apple slices onto bamboo skewers. Continue layering the fruit until the skewer is full. Secure the arrangement with candy eyes and chocolate chips to complete the festive look.
  4. Spread strawberry jam on a slice of toasted whole wheat bread. Place a peanut butter-filled Oreo cookie on top of the jam. Use peanut butter as glue to attach candy eyes to the cookie, then drizzle melted dark chocolate over the edges to create spider legs.
  5. Spread peanut butter onto a pitted Medjool date and press it onto a sugar cookie. Attach a candy eye to the date for an eye, then use melted dark chocolate to draw additional legs and details, transforming the cookie into a creepy cockroach.
  6. Peel the orange completely. Insert a stem of cilantro or parsley into the top of the fruit to mimic a pumpkin stem, creating a simple and healthy Halloween decoration.
