Jumping Spiders
Get ready for a bouncing good time with this plush spider launching game!
Our own summary of the original — the full post and photos live at carnivalsavers.com.
Kids take turns hitting a launch pad with a mallet to make a plush spider jump onto a wooden web. With three tries and a practice round, they can win prizes based on how many spiders stick the landing. For younger players, parents can help guide the mallet.
Directions
- Place the game on a table set to its shortest height so little ones can easily reach, or simply set it up on the floor.
- Each child gets three turns to whack the far end of the launch pad with a mallet, aiming to send a plush spider onto the wooden web.
- Let the child have one practice swing first so they can gauge how much force is needed to launch the spider into the air.
- Scoring: If no spiders land on the web, the child receives a consolation prize. If one or more spiders land, they win a bigger prize.
- For preschool-aged kids, let a parent assist by holding the mallet together with the child.
