Our own summary of the original by Zach Averett — the full post and photos live at highheelsandgrills.com.
These Meatball Mummies are a fun, spooky appetizer perfect for Halloween parties. Frozen meatballs are wrapped in thin strips of crescent dough and topped with olive eyes, then baked until golden. Serve them warm with marinara sauce for a deliciously creepy treat.
Ingredients
Directions
- Preheat the oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- Unroll the crescent dough sheet on a clean surface. Cut it lengthwise into thin strips about 1/4 inch wide. Gently wrap each strip around a frozen meatball and place it on the baking sheet.
- For each meatball, spoon a small amount of marinara sauce onto the back of a drained olive slice and stick it onto the meatball as an eye. Repeat with a second olive to form two eyes. Continue until all meatballs are decorated.
- Bake for 15 to 20 minutes, until the meatballs are hot and the crescent dough is lightly browned. Serve warm with additional marinara sauce for dipping.
