These mummy dogs are a fun and easy Halloween snack made by wrapping hot dogs in strips of bread stick or crescent roll dough, then baking until golden. Finish them off with mustard eyes for a spooky-cute look that kids and adults will love.

Ingredients

Directions

  1. Heat your oven to 375°F. Open the can of bread sticks or crescent rolls. For crescent rolls, unroll the dough without separating into triangles; slice it into 1-inch wide strips with a sharp knife. If using bread sticks, simply pull them apart into individual sticks.
  2. Take one hot dog and start wrapping a dough strip around it from the top. Leave gaps between the dough so the hot dog shows through, like a bandage wrap. The dough is flexible, so you can adjust as you go.
  3. Be sure to leave a clear area for the hot dog's 'face'—push a strip up or down if needed. Don't worry about perfection; the mummies will look cute no matter how you wrap them.
  4. Brush the wrapped mummies with melted butter, then bake for about 12 minutes until golden brown. Once out of the oven, add two small dots of mustard in the face area for eyes. Ketchup works too, but mustard shows up better.
