Directions
- Lay two orange felt sheets side by side so their short edges meet, leaving a one-inch gap between them. Apply hot glue along the overlapping area to bond the pieces into a single long strip.
- Take one roll of toilet paper and wrap the newly created orange felt strip around its exterior. Secure the overlapping ends of the felt with hot glue to form a cylindrical cover.
- Trim any excess felt if needed, then fold the remaining fabric at both open ends of the toilet paper roll inward. Press the folded edges firmly into the cardboard tube and glue them in place to create a clean finish.
- Cut a three-inch square from the green felt. Roll this square tightly from one corner to form a spiral shape, then glue the final edge to keep the roll intact. This will serve as the pumpkin stem.
- Using the remaining green felt, cut out a leaf shape that measures approximately two inches in length.
- Insert one end of the rolled green stem and the base of the cut leaf into the open end of the felt-covered toilet paper roll. Glue both pieces securely inside the tube to attach them to the pumpkin body.
- Repeat steps one through six to craft additional pumpkins until you have the desired number for your game.
- Cut a classic pumpkin silhouette from the single sheet of orange construction paper.
- With a permanent marker, write the words "Pumpkin Chuckin'" across the front of the paper pumpkin shape.
- Punch a small hole near the top edge of the paper pumpkin. Thread a length of satin ribbon through the hole and tie it securely to the handle or rim of your bushel basket.
- Place the decorated basket on a flat surface outdoors or in a large play area.
- Ask the child to stand roughly ten feet away from the basket. Adjust this distance closer or further depending on the child's age and throwing ability.
- Encourage the child to pick up the felt-covered toilet paper rolls and toss them toward the basket, aiming to land them inside.
