Creative Halloween Candy Pail Cookies Recipe

Directions

1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and line baking sheets with parchment paper.
2. In a large bowl, cream together the softened butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
3. Beat in the egg and vanilla extract until well combined.
4. In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt.
5. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined.
6. Divide the dough in half. Tint one half orange and the other half black using food coloring.
7. Roll out each color of dough to about 1/4 inch thickness. Use a cookie cutter to cut out pail shapes.
8. Place cookies on the prepared baking sheets.
9. Bake for 10-12 minutes or until the edges are lightly golden.
10. Allow cookies to cool completely on a wire rack.
11. Decorate the cooled cookies with candy corn to resemble Halloween candy pails.
