This project guides you through painting a pumpkin purple, crafting a layered cape from black and red foam, and adding detailed facial features like pointed hair, white eyes, and fangs to create a festive vampire decoration.

You'll need

Directions

  1. Apply a full coat of purple paint to the pumpkin and allow it to dry for approximately 30 minutes.
  2. Place the printable cape template over the black craft foam and trace the larger outline. Then, trace the smaller cape design onto the red craft foam.
  3. Carefully cut out both foam shapes and attach them together using hot glue.
  4. Sketch the vampire's hair onto the top of the pumpkin with a pencil, ensuring the front forms a point. This preliminary sketch helps guide your paint placement.
  5. Fill in the sketched hair area with black paint.
  6. Dip a large round sponge brush into white paint and dab two circular eyes onto the pumpkin.
  7. Switch to a smaller round sponge brush to paint the pupils inside the white eyes.
  8. Add a tiny white dot to the center of each pupil.
  9. Paint a mouth using black paint, then use white paint to create the vampire's fangs.
  10. Secure the finished cape to the rear of the pumpkin to complete your spooky creation.
